Job Title: Solar Installation Technician (Part Time to Full Time)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Solar Installation Technician is responsible for safe, high-quality installation and maintenance of residential and commercial solar PV systems.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in creating bill of materials for jobs.

Loads and transports required equipment, materials, and tools to installation site.

Follows all applicable safety standards and guidelines.

Configures solar PV system and ancillary services based on layout plan, site conditions and direction of Solar Installation Crew Leader.

Installs PV system support structures and modules.
-
Installs and wires together module level electronics (DC optimizers and microinverters).

Follows all applicable building standards and codes when installing solar PV systems and ancillary services.

Tests string voltages.
-
Cleans up installation site leaving no tools or debris on-site.

Performs routine maintenance on PV systems.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Attention to detail.
-
Ability to read and interpret layout plans.
-
Basic knowledge of solar PV systems.
-
Basic knowledge of building construction principles and practices.
-
Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.
-
Ability to use hand and power tools.
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
-
At least 1 year of Solar PV installation experience, preferred.

At least 1 year of construction work, preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS:
-
OSHA 10
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Ability to work on roofs at great height.
-
Ability to work in all types of weather, including heat and cold.
-
Long periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
-
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
-
Ability to travel to installation sites.
